Meeting the team!
Around a week before the challenge start, most of us got together at the Norwich City football stadium for a char and photos.
Arrival Day: finding a hill near Koblenz
After locating our hotel and checking the bikes, we had a couple of hours to kill before the evening meal, so I decided to head south along the Rhine to a nearby hill. It didn't disappoint, and peaked at around 16%.

Day 1: Koblenz - Monchengladbach
This was a long, slow day due to lots of bike lane give-ways (especially when leaving Koblenz) and a mechanical issue with Dawn's bike. We arrived in Monchengladbach at dusk, and headed straight to a nearby pizza takeaway for much-needed refuelling.
