Old Buckenham Tour of Britain Races

Location: Old Buckenham, United Kingdom

The Diss & District CC are organising a bunch of races around the Old Buckenham village green, in conjunction with Breckland District Council. This event is the first of its kind for the village and it could well become a regular fixture in the racing calendar. Racing will happen as soon as the Tour of Britain (ToB) has gone through. The ToB is due in Old Buckenham between 12:00 & 12:25, much earlier than originally expected so all the races will start about 45 minutes earlier than stated on the BC website.

Where is Old Buckenham? Just 3 miles off the A11. In Norfolk, between Snetterton & Attleborough some 20 miles south west of Norwich. The A11/M11 is all dual carriageway, so really easy to get to. The Village Green is huge but the whole race will be visible, which is quite a rarity in cycling! Hopefully the crowd who come to watch the ToB will stay to watch YOU.

How to race

You do not need to a British Cycling Member & Race Licence holder for any race except the first race of 40 min. The second race (Go Race) is for over 16’s only. There will be no extra charge for non BC Members on the day. On Line Entry is cheaper than on the day, allows the organiser to maximise the prize list, enables a programme to be printed and makes it easier for the guy on the PA system to announce your name as you thrill the crowds. So please enter in advance by 5th Sept on the BC website!

As an added bonus there is a 1 Lap Dash Time Trial at the end if you fancy a go. Only £2; cheaper than the bumper cars in the fairground and much more fun?! Enter this TT on the day. This is open to any person of any age with a helmet on a road legal cycle. It will be run under CTT Rules & Regs.
