Run Norwich 2015

Location: City Hall, Norwich, United Kingdom

This was the first time roads were closed in the centre of Norwich for a 10-kilometre running race, and it went exceptionally well! There were over 3800 entrants, all setting off outside the city hall at 9:30, and I was amongst the first dozen or so to start. It probably took a little while for everyone to cross the start line, though, and as I was running down St Stephen's Street I glanced left and could see hundreds of runners walking out of Gentleman's Walk and up Theatre Street as it was just too crowded.

The crowds were amazing, with lots of cheering, clapping and encouraging words all around the twisting course. After the event I headed over to Chapelfield Gardens where lots of stalls were set up, and had a much-needed massage from CJW Sports Therapy: much needed and much recommended, on a regular basis!

The results are now in! Head over to the Run Norwich Results on chiptiminguk. I was 157th male overall, and 29th in my vet 40-44 age category. There are also photos available to preview and purchase at epicactionimagery. For the record, my number was 574!

I was very happy with my performance, although my GPS track must have got lost a couple of times as I recorded a distance of 10.4km and a 10k time of 39:32 - if only!

Run Norwich! What a blast!!
