Access hidden files on an Android phone

1) Turn on developer mode in the phone's settings - see USB debugging at http://developer.android.com/tools/device.html
2) Download the Android SDK - http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html - and run "SDK Manager.exe"
3) Enter recovery mode - http://www.android.gs/enter-recovery-mode-rooted-locked-android-devices/ (see instructions for locked Android devices)
