Norfolk County Hall Circuit Races: August - October

Keep your Sundays free for cycle racing, as novice adults and children will be able to come together for six pure racing sessions spread throughout August, September and October.

All racing takes place at Norwich County Hall, and is a collaboration between Great Yarmouth CC, Iceni Velo, VC Barrachi and VC Norwich. All you need to do is turn up and have a go. Says GYCC's Neil Turner:

These races are put on for you to come and try racing! Each event will be run as a mini stage-race with at least 3 races each for the adults and youngsters. At the end of the day is a BC points scoring race for 3/4 cats. Come on chaps lets put on a grand show and see lots of you having a go - perhaps for the first time!

Each race day is broken up into a number of races. Here is the information that you need for the Norwich Circuit Race Series:

RACE 1
Category: Bite Size Racing (u8 – u16) Entry: £5.00 per round Time: 9.30 – 11.00 am

RACE 2
Category: Circuit Omnium Series (18+) Entry: £5.00 per round (+ £5.00 day licence for non British Cycling members) Time: 11.30 – 1.00pm

Based on the format of track racing these events will offer:

  • 3 or 4 races for every rider at every round – a handicap system to guarantee close, competitive racing
  • the chance to develop skills, improve fitness and have fun racing
  • advice on tactics & techniques and feedback from British Cycling coaches

RACE 3
Category: County Criteriums Regional B Entry: £10.00 per round Time: 2.00pm

BC Racing A 40 minute criterium for 3rd/4th/Women/Junior riders

  • Round 2, Sunday 28th August 2011
  • Round 3, Sunday 11th September 2011
  • Round 4, Sunday 25th September 2011
  • Round 5, Sunday 9th October 2011
  • Round 6, Sunday 23rd October 2011
