This was a great opener to the 2018/19 Eastern Cross season, and the mild, dry conditions meant that competitors only had to worry about bumping over the numerous tree roots - rather than slipping off them. A nice touch was that the under 12s had a harder course than the under 10s, allowing for climbs and turns that were probably a bit much for the younger riders.
