A mild, dry morning greeted the early, young racers for the Eastern Cross League's penultimate event, the Chris Cross. Plenty of recent rain made the going soft on the grassy sections, but the indoor arena gave some respite. Once the rain started around mid-day, conditions deteriorated rapidly - and the last race turned into a bit of a mud-fest as the steep sides of the bomb crater became increasingly slippery. Full results are available on the Eastern Cross website, and Fergus Muir has a report on the BC website.
