Essex Roads Cross

Location: Basildon, United Kingdom

Essex Roads CC and the Eastern Cross League put on a great opening event of the season, with a firm but challenging grassy course and lots of spectators on the steep climb. All very encouraging! Full results on the Eastern Cross website.

Vet 40-49 race

Mike Simpson (GS Henley) was dominant throughout, although Shaun Aldous worked strongly in the latter stages to finish within 15 seconds of him, in a clear second place.

I had a pretty good race, despite getting swamped at the start. Some good battling most of the way round with Michael Bowen (West Suffolk Wheelers) and Damian Robertson (London Phoenix), and we managed to catch Mike Mooney (CC Hackney) just before the end.
