Recover Photos From a Memory Card

DataDoctor.org offers a file recovery program to recover lost files from a memory card. It offers a free trial download of its Memory card data recovery Software, but doesn't state what doesn't work compared to the paid version.

On running the executable, I found that it successfully located previously-removed files. I didn't ask for a recovery, so maybe this step is what a paid version provides.

Any comments on this topic would be much appreciated; I have a card that reports an access error from a camera, and a laptop reckons that it needs formatting!
