This was a cool but sunny and calm morning, with temperatures and breeze rising slowly. Road traffic was quite light.

I was suffering from tired legs from the day before, and for the last five miles or so had to contend with calf cramps, which isn't fun if you're riding fixed. I rode a Dave Lloyd fixed (53x14) which was mostly a suitable gear for the conditions.
