London - Lands End - London 1000km Audax

Taking place on at 10PM

Location: Raynes Park, London, UK

This is an X-rated event (ie, no support at the intermediate controls) and riders need to finish in 75 hours (3 days + 3 hours). There are 16 intermediate controls; see the 2023 event info for them all. It is organised by the Audax Chapter of Kingston Wheelers CC.

Note that the start time is 10pm, so you are "expected" to ride through the first night. I happen to have a relative I can visit on the route, 200km from Raynes Park, so I would arrive there around 6:30am on Thursday for a rest and some breakfast. I could also stop there on the way back, around lunchtime on the Friday, which would make a nice half-way break. This schedule would make my time around 60 hours, well inside the 75 hours maximum.

Entries open on January 1st, and close on July 5th or when the 80-rider maximum has been reached.

Dot-watcher

I've added the route to Strava, and have plotted out all of its controls at cycling.routes.fun. You can also use the dot-watcher to help friends & family to keep an eye on your progress!
