Prices heading steeply up

Domestic oil in the UK is now comfortably above the 40p/L mark, and current crude prices indicate that this is only going to get worse. This will naturally put pressure on alternatives for heating, such as gas, which will in turn put pressure on electricity prices (since gas is a significant minority in the electricity generation business).

I feel glad that we have installed a wood-burning stove (also suitable as a multi-fuel stove), as high oil prices make the purchase of seasoned logs much more economical.
