Tour of the Broads

Taking place on at 8AM

This is a chance to have a ride with a wearer of the TdF yellow jersey! In addition to the big 100km event, there are women-only rides and a 20-mile Challenge Ride. All the rides are set in the beautiful Norfolk Broads. The HQ is the Parson Woodforde Pub & Village Hall, Weston Longville, (NR9 5JU). Go to the ActivatingCIC website for more details and to sign up online.

Message from the organisers:

Ever wondered what it might be like to ride with a Tour de France yellow jersey holder? Ever wanted to ride and chat about the real story behind how Team Sky won the Tour de France, what it was like being a team mate of Lance Armstrong or do you fancy your chances sprinting for the next village sign????!!!

Well, the Tour de Broads on Sunday 8th September is your chance. There are ride distances for all ages and abilities including families. The main 100km ride around the Broads will be led by cycling legend Sean Yates. The ride is based at Weston Longville and will have cycling festival events all day to keep you amused and entertained.

For those who remember the "Good ol' days" the Rennrad Club Norwich will be having a reunion. If you rode for them, or against them, come and relive the highlights of the 1980's and 1990's. Why not bring your old woolley tights and toe clips as well!

We would love to see you. As a not-for-profit social enterprise, all profits from our events are re-invested into local cycling projects and events.
