I found this garish window sticker recently, buried amongst a few papers I'd gathered when I used to work at Marconi Communications (formerly GEC) in Nottingham. We were given these in 1999 to remind us that the dreaded year 2000 was approaching and that our computer code (old and new) needed to support 4-digit years. I seem to recall that we spent absolutely ages checking loads of old code, and that we did have to make a few minuscule changes, and that the year 2000 came into existence without a hitch. Due diligence paid its part I'm sure, but I don't think that these window stickers really helped very much!
