Possible Change in Rural Speed Limits?

By 07 Jan 2008 | Comment
ITV's Alastair Stewart on Police, Camera, Action! reports that the Government is considering reducing the default speeds on rural roads. Instead of 60MPH (the 'National Speed Limit'), 50MPH will become the maximum, 30MPH in villages and 20MPH in certain circumstances. Finally, realisation that narrow country lanes are just not the place to drive fast.

Of course, the sparse level of road policing in rural areas may make these changes rather academic.
