Look after your bike and keep it dry! If you don't have anywhere to store your bike then you really need to use some sort of bike cover. I have found two that look quite promising:
- Oxford Aquatex Bike Cover, around £28 depending on the size. It comes with an A4-size drawstring bag, so is quite bulky but will be easy to stash away.
- Topeak Bike Rain Cover, around £30. The cover incorporates a tiny zip-up bag, which is extremely handy except for the considerable effort required to get the cover back in the bag.
