Venus Fly Trap
This little beauty will happily gobble up all your unwanted house-flies. The label warns you not to feed it artificially though (with flies, presumably). Indeed, I did feed it a bluebottle quite successfully and after a week or so that sinlge trap had gone black. Bit of indigestion maybe?
Anyway, generally these beasts like it sunny and moist, so a windowsill position and lots of attention are what it needs. What it doesn\'t need is a toddler pulling it out and throwing it on the carpet; despite this downturn in fortunes, it is now growing well.
