It's easier said than done on the subject of self-improvement, especially when it comes to physical development. Probably the greatest challenge is being content with little or no visible improvement for a long while, as your body adjusts to its new pressures. Perseverance can pay off, however, and the legacy of that hard work can pay dividends for a very long time.

So, be prepared to change the way you do things, sit back and enjoy the ride!

A good friend from University days is Andy Tyler, and he assembled some Handy Hints on personal physical development.

If you fancy the idea of getting completely immersed in club cycling, read this advice first!

Here is some advice on Deep Rims I picked up a while ago.

Shops in Norwich that might be able to help:

Specialised Cycles 80 Connaught Road, NORWICH; Tel: 01603 665668
This is a small but well-established and well-stocked shop that is within a stone's throw of the Golden Triangle.
If you're looking for a new tyre or the latest cycle computer, this is the place to go.
The Runners Centre 145 Nelson Street, NORWICH; Tel: 01603 665398
As its name implies, this is the place primarily for the runner. However, the fitness products are equally applicable to cycling: notably, the heart rate monitors and carbohydrate powder.
